Grace Tomlinson - Commerical Manager

Introducing Grace

As someone who was born and brought up in Derbyshire, I consider myself extremely lucky to have grown up with the Peak District on my doorstep. I love travelling and have been very fortunate to visit many parts of the world but I have always felt the pull of home! I joined the team at Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire in 2012 and worked in Industry and Membership roles before becoming Commercial Manager in April 2017 – so my time here has always been about building excellent relationships within the industry.

A key part of my role is to manage our private sector and marketing income. I create new and bespoke opportunities for existing and potential key members, patrons or partners, bringing together a range of online and print opportunities and involvement in marketing campaigns. I love finding solutions to suit a business’s needs and budget, so we can ensure they are involved in marketing activity that is relevant to them, at a time that suits their business and offers the best return.

One of my favourite things about my job is that it enables me to meet the people behind the amazing businesses that we have in the area.

Over the years I’ve visited most of the attractions in the area, tried a lot of the activities and explored the beautiful countryside. One of my favourite beauty spots is Mam Tor near Castleton – if you are lucky enough to visit on a clear day the views are stunning! One Peak District activity I am yet to try is paragliding! If you are going to run off a hill or cliff harnessed to a fabric wing, Derbyshire has to be the place to do it, right?

I also love Chatsworth House – especially at Christmas. I have been known to visit the House three times in one year during the festive season!
