Theresa Bruno - Membership Sales & Digital Marketing Executive

Introducing Theresa...

I was born in London but brought up in Bournemouth, Dorset. A creative student, I became a Womble by studying sculpture in Wimbledon. Once I’d graduated, I started my working life in an administrative role and have since worked in customer service, sales and eventually qualified in marketing, so I have been lucky to have a mix of work experience and a good mix of skills.

I spent the first 5 years of my career working in full time jobs and making art on the side. In 2014, I cofounded a gallery in Bournemouth which was a really intense time, but running my own business was a real eye opener and a great experience.

In 2016, I travelled Asia where I fell in love with Japan, China and South East Asia. Spending time in China and experiencing their culture and huge growth first hand really inspired me to want to focus my career on bridging Asia with the UK.

Once I got back from Asia, I moved to Sheffield in 2017, where I first discovered the Peak District. I would often take myself out on long hikes to explore the area.

I started working at Marketing Peak District and Derbyshire in 2018 as their Membership Sales and Digital Marketing Executive. I am responsible for approaching new businesses to join us under membership as well as managing the marketing for our B2b activities. I enjoy wearing both my sales and marketing hat at the same time and with being new to the area, I love discovering new places and meeting new businesses on a daily basis.

In my spare time, I go to the Buddhist centre in Sheffield, study mandarin at night school and spend a lot of time exploring the north of England. My favourite thing about the Peak District is the changing seasons. I love watching it change from snow to blossom, and then sunshine to beautiful autumnal falls. The food is also a BIG plus for me, I’m always looking for new places in the Peaks to eat and post about on my blog. And last but not least, I also love the people, everyone has such a great sense of humour up here!
